Climate neutral
Swiss Economics is "climate neutral". We try to make our contribution to the achievement of Switzerland's climate goals as follows:
- We minimize our greenhouse gas emissions;
- We compensate for the rest.
Minimize ☘
- Electricity: We use electricity from renewable generation and use efficient equipment.
- Commuting to work: We get to work by bike, public transport or climate-friendly propulsion.
- Business travel: We use video conferencing and take the train when possible.
- Heating: As tenants, we only heat as much as necessary and close the windows in winter.
Compensate ☘
- We calculate and report our greenhouse gas emissions annually.
- We offset it through climate protection projects that our employees select together.
Compensations to date:
- 2023: 20.8 tons of emissions*, compensated with hydropower project in Chile
- 2022: 20.0 tons of emissions, offset by myclimate climate protection projects in developing and emerging countries
- 2021: 19.5 tons of emissions, offset by reforestation in Nicaragua
- 2008 - 2020: 112.5 tons of emissions*, linearly approximated, compensated with hydropower project in Chile
* Incl. digital emissions; not including the usual employee meals, including coffee/tea consumption at SE.
